About Us

Our Mission and Services

Wildlife in Need  is a capture and delivery service for injured, orphaned and sick wildlife.

If the animal is already captured/contained, go to the Pennsylvania Association of Wildlife Rehabilitators website www.pawr.com to locate your nearest wildlife rehabilitation center. They will advise you on transport options for the animal.

Wildlife in Need Emergency Response of PA (WIN) is a volunteer, non-profit, statewide network for capturing and delivering injured, and orphaned wildlife within the state of Pennsylvania.

We:

  • Advise concerned citizens on wildlife situations they encounter.
  • Respond to wildlife needing to be captured.
  • If the animal is already contained, provide information to the caller about transporting the animal to the appropriate veterinarian or wildlife rehabilitation center for medical treatment and continued care.
  • Assist in arranging for a transport relay to deliver the animal  if a wildlife rehabilitation center is located a long distance away.

How WIN Helps

WIN reduces the number of phone calls that our law enforcement agencies (PAGC, DCNR), veterinarians and wildlife rehabilitation centers need to respond to from the general public. This gives the staff more time to work with injured, orphaned or sick wildlife. Especially in the spring and summer, the number of phone calls become overwhelming for the centers.

How You Can Help

The service that is provided by WIN is solely comprised of dedicated and caring volunteers.  Please consider volunteering or donating to WIN so that we can continue to help our injured and orphaned wildlife.
